Station News
In 2008, we obtained our DFS Certificate (Declared Facility Status). This means that we have been examinded by HM Coastguard representative as having reached the required standard and having the necessary equipment on the station, to become a recognised member of the United Kingdom Search and Rescue organistion. We now have additional VHF facilities meaning that we are able to communicate quickly with the various rescue organisations. We are sure that this will improve the service that we are able to offer to beach and water users on Shoebury East Beach. In July 2009 we had a re-assessment which means that we have maintained our standards and have again been approved by HM Coastguard
