How you can help?
The National Coastwatch Institution always welcomes new volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer watchkeeper you should contact the Station Manager or his deputy, Southend Station to receive full details. You will find us to be a very friendly bunch of people who are doing a well worthwhile job for the local community.

You should not worry about your level of knowledge or your ability to carry out the duties required of a watch keeper. You will receive training in all aspects of the job and you will not be under any pressure to achieve knowledge in a set period of time. However the service provided by Coastwatch is a serious matter and some commitment is expected from all those who volunteer.

How the National Coastwatch Institution is funded?
We depend entirely on the generosity of the public and the sponsorship of companies. Each NCI station relies on fund raising in order to meet its running costs. Most fund raising is carried out by the watchkeepers, when they are not manning the station. You may have seen us with our display at various points within the Southend area.

If you would like to be involved in with Station, either by making a donation or by sponsoring a piece of equipment then please either contact the Station Manager page see note below or send a email to fundraising@ncisouthend.org.uk
